New Principals

This group has been established to help support GPs in their first 7 years as a Principal in General Practice. Meetings occur on a 2 monthly basis on Monday evenings. The format usually involves a meal, followed by a small group discussions, on topics identified by the participants. The groups are facilitated by Niki Roberts and Rachel Elliott. Niki and Rachel are GP Tutors with specific responsibility for New Principals. The group aims to:

provide peer support
facilitate mentorship
help with identification of learning needs, and the production of personal development plans
where appropriate, provide the resources necessary to address identified learning needs
encourage reflective practice

However, the most important element is the opportunity to meet colleagues who are at a similar stage in their career, and experiencing similar challenges, in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The meetings are approved for 2 hours of TAE. If you are interested, please contact:
