The Practice
|
Buckland Medical Centre is well-established as a training practice, teaching PRHOs as well as GP Registrars. We are a friendly forward thinking practice, with two trainers - although everyone is happy to support the registrar. We have developed additional clinics to assist the disadvantaged within our community. Our two excellent practice nurses, both family-planning trained, also run Triage and Chronic Disease management clinics.
We invite Registrars to attend Primary CareTeam meetings. We believe this helps you to become part of the team almost from day one.
The practice is well managed and forward thinking, with high staff morale. |
Training at the Practice

As a GPR, we will provide you with your own fully equipped consulting room which has a computer, Internet access and direct booking for rapid access outpatient clinics. We will support and guide you through your Summative Assessment and MRCGP. The Partners and Primary Care Team are happy and optimistic which makes for an enjoyable atmosphere to work in.
We are close to the Continental Ferry Port for quick hops across the channel. If you enjoy sailing, shopping or exploring the South Coast, then Buckland Medical Centre in Portsmouth will be your ideal place. |

"I found the Practice to be understanding, supportive, hard working and forward thinking. They have regular social events and I felt part of the team from the beginning." - Dr Martha Makaratzi, Registrar 2001/2002.
