I have been a trainer since 1991. I do clinical sessions at Sultan Ward GWMH and have been throug Appraiser training in July 2008. I really enjoy both General Practice and Training and I try to share that enthusiasm with my registrars. I have varied outside interests including astronomy, swimming and numismatics and have a busy family life - I believe maintaining a sensible balance between professional and personal life is vital to remaining sane in this hectic world. |

The Practice

| The Stubbington Medical Practice is a long established training practice in a very pleasant area right by the sea near Fareham in South Hampshire and within easy reach of Portsmouth and Southampton. We are a partnership of 4 male and 4 female partners and a retained doctor working out of our own premises. Several of the partners have other medical interests including endoscopies, teaching medical students, acupuncture and PCT work. We have excellent and harmonious relationships within the practice team with attached health care professionals such as the district nurses and health visitors. |
Training at the Practice

| We have three trainers, all enthusiastic about training and able to offer a variety of skills and experience. Stubbington is a very pleasant area in which to be a GP with a compact practice area and well mixed patient profile, but without any serious deprivation. We often have two registrars in post simultaneously which is both fun and helpful for mutual support. The other doctors are also involved in supporting the registrars. The registrars have their own room and the practice facilities generally are of a high standard. Stubbington and its environs are a pleasant area in which to live with a variety of housing to buy or to rent. |
