Dr Mark Coombe
Dr Mark Coombe qualified at St Georges HMS in 1989. After his house jobs he joined the RAMC on a short service commission. He left the army in 1996, to become a partner in Horndean surgery. He became an examiner for the MRCGP in 1998 and is currently a senior examiner for the CSA. Dr Coombe is an experienced, keen and enthusiastic educator and trainer and welcomes registrars to his relaxed and friendly practice. He has produced a number of learning tools for the MRCGP exam and published a number of academic articles. He is the course Director for the Portsmouth MRCGP course, which allegedly has the highest pass rate for the exam in the UK. All of his registrars to date have scored very highly in the MRCGP exam and passed on their first attempt. |

The Practice
| The Horndean surgery is a two partner practice situated in a semi-rural area, serving Horndean, Clanfield and the surrounding countryside. We are situated within a short distance of the A3 giving quick access to the south coast and all destinations north, including London. It is a uniquely friendly practice with an informal and cheerful atmosphere, where many GP Registrars have enjoyed their time doing their training. In 2004 the practice also won the RGCP (Wessex) Achievement Award for outstanding support to General Practice Training & Education. Out of Hours care is provided by the Portsmouth Out of Hours service. |
