I have joined the Isle of Wight trainer's group very recently. I have been a GP since 1991. I work in a small practice along wwith two other doctors. The senior partner is Section 12 approved. My professional interests and enthusiasm include Asthma, COPD, Sexual Health, IT and Clinical Governance. I have trained medical students in the past. I also work as an occupational health physician in the local Trust since 2000. I am also one of the two PCT appointed IM&T DES assesor for the Isle of Wight.
I have one child who is studying medicine in Oxford. My social interests include some cooking , reading books and charity work in India with an orphanage. |

The Practice

We are a small, very friendly practice working in beautiful premises in the agreeable seaside town of Ryde on the Isle of Wight.
An excellently appointed consulting room of their own wiht 'state of the art' IT on their desk including access via The Web to a huge wealth of information resource to facilitate their training. DVD serviecs are 'built in'. A friendly relaxed working environment wiht patients who value old-fashioned, high quality, friendly, personal service. A frward thinking innovative, integrated team who retain refreshing enthusiasm for primary care and who are fun to work with. |
Training at the Practice

You will have a fun time and see a wide range of illnesses and gain a lot of confidence in handling the vast range of conditions we are presented with in General Practice. You will find all our staff very friendly and encouraging and they understand the needs of the GP Registrar. We are well equipped and our Call Rota is minimal since we use a local cooperative. Ryde is a pleasant seaside place. Isle of Wight is renowned for sailing and we enjoy "Cowes Week" where the worlds yacheters meet up.
Our aim is to give you a structured and simple learning experience resulting in you becoming a fully rounded independent practitioner. We operate in a unique, laid back, friendly practice. Although situated in a small town we offer a highly professional service with all mod cons for training. As well as acheiving a good standard in the MRCGP exam we hpe you will enjoy your time with us. |
