The Practice
Emsworth surgery is a long established training practice operating from an attractive Georgian listed building.  Emsworth lies on the Hampshire/Sussex boundary, with Chichester Harbour to the South, and the South Downs to the North.  We comprise 8 partners.  We try to provide a first-class local service appropriate to our population (approximately 13500 patients).  We also feel that it is important to keep the workload to a manageable level, so that it remains enjoyable.

In addition to Emsworth, we also look after a large area of rural West Sussex and have a branch surgery in the village of Westbourne.  We also have a branch surgery on Thorney Island  where we lok after the resident soldiers, their wives and families.  The Practice has always enjoyed good relations with th eservice personnel and have appreciated having access to the Island including the beacn and unspoilt areas of Chichester Harbour foreshort.

A special feature of our practice is that we operate personal lists, therefore usually get to know our patients very well.  We find this helps us and our patients in all sorts of way, which we are keen to demonstrate!
Training at the Practice
You will have a fun time and see a wide range of illnesses and gain a lot of confidence in handling the vast range of conditions we are presented with in General Practice. You will find all our staff very friendly and encouraging and they understand the needs of the GP Registrar. We are well equipped and our Call Rota is minimal since we use a local cooperative. Emsworth is a pleasant seaside place with nationally renowned sailing facilities together with mainline Rail connections to London. Emsworth also offers easy access to the New Forest and France!
Previous GPRs
We are all committed to training, and enjoy having a registrar, both to teach, and to help us keep up to date. We were recently subjected to a random JCPTGP inspection, which made us ensure that all aspects of the Practice were up to a good standard. We found it a useful exercise, and were rewarded by a most complimentary report.
