Terence Allan joined the Bosmere Medical Practice as a GP Registrar in 1981 and has been a partner since 1982. He has been a trainer since 1995 and has extensive training experience having been involved informally since 1982 and formally since 1995. All our registrars have passed MRCGP and two recent registrars have joined the practice. |

I qualified from Kings College Hospital in 1982, DRCPG 1986, MRCGP 1987. I joined the practice as a partner in 1995 following 6 years general practice in Barbados. I have completed an MSc in ultrasound and have particular interests in ophthalmology, diving medicine and therapeutics. I have been a trainer since 2003, All the partners are involved with teaching medical students. Within the practice we have a welath of GP training experience, not only with Terence as a well established trainer, but also Tommy Chung who is an RCGP examiner and Mike Maclean is an ex trainer.
I am also Company Secretary for Spinnaker Health Ltd, a GP Provider organisation which has 160 Portsmouth GP shareholders. I work in the Out of Hours services both in Portsmouth and in West Sussex and do take registrars on Portsmouth shifts. |

The Practice
|
The Bosmere Medical Practice is a long established training practice in the town of Havant. Havant is situated on Chichester Harbour (renowned for sailing) and the edge of the beautiful South Downs; just one and a half hours from London by train.
The Practice cares for approximately 15,000 patients and covers the town and several surrounding villages so there is a good cross section of population.
There are seven partners and two salaried doctors as well as two doctors in training and medical stduents. All the Doctors are enthusiastics about being involved in medical education. We operate from a large, new (2007) purpose built practice with an especially defined training suite containing individual room for the trainers and training doctors.
Out of Hours care is provided by the Portsmouth Out-of-Hours service based one mile away. The practice is fully engaged with a cottage hospital close by which broadens our involvement with the community. |
